Best known for his role with the Glastonbury Festival (one if not the biggest and most influential of European Music Festivals), Martin has had 25 years of experience in the music industry including time as a promoter, festival organizer, magazine publisher, agent (New Order, The Smiths), artist manager, record label owner and co founder, with Peter Gabriel, of the WOMAD Festival. After attending many conferences and showcase events around the world, he made use of his knowledge to create in 2006, the prestigious international live music event called “The Great Escape”, which takes place in Brighton (UK) every year in May.

Specializing in artist management and music publishing, the company has rapidly become a leader within Quebec’s music industry for the last 12 years. In recent years Avalanche’s acts have performed at a number of important festivals throughout the world. Its founder/presidentSébastien Nasra has made continuous efforts and numerous trips abroad to build a very solid and extensive international network. In constant evolution, the company has shown creativity and dynamism by launching the international careers of renowned cellist-singer-songwriter Jorane, and Montreal’s electro-live sensation, Plaster.

Avalanche is the producer of M for Montreal and in 2007, conducted satellite events in Los Angeles and Austin’s SXSW. Sebastien Nasra is the Artistic Director of the event.

Jayne Houghton has been running music and event public relations consultancy Excess Press for 15 years. Festival clients include Glasonbury, Gullfest and Jersey Live, and Haldern Pop in Germany. Music conferences include The Great Escape, Euroosinc and Norway's ByLarm. More recently Excess Press has been working with NME and NME.com to develop their brand internationally. Bands over the years have included New Order, Kiss, Black Crowes, Hard Fi, Happy Mondays, Kula Shaker, Desree and Wet Wet Wet. Excess Press have offices in Brighton and London,UK.
